Bancorp South, formerly the Homebank, is located in scenic downtown Guntersville.  The building is a 28,000–square–foot steel–frame structure that was designed and built around the existing basement of a former truck dealership.  A combination of brick, cast stone and man-made stone masonry units were used as finishes.  Steering away from the residential style pervasive in much of today’s bank construction, this building was inspired by banks built in the Gilded Age.  Its solid, traditional image lends a touch of elegance and presence to Guntersville’s main street
