Alabama A & M University was founded in 1875.  Several of the buildings on campus date back to the early 1900’s.  Bill Peters was hired to perform an extensive facility survey and needs assessment and to design a Master Plan for campus improvements.  The plan represented in the rendering calls for integrating several new buildings with the historic ones, plus plans for additions and renovations to several of the existing structures, including plans and recommendations for adaptive re-use.  The Master Plan also sets architectural guidelines for a campus that had previously had no cohesive architectural or building materials standards.  This Master Plan has been used since its development to guide facility and land use improvements on this historic campus.
