The Waterfront at Rhodes Ferry

BPA was hired to design a master plan for a tract of land on the waterfront near the Hudson River Bridge adjacent to the Rhodes Ferry Park in Decatur, AL. The master plan consists of seven buildings totalling 145,000 square feet to be phased in. The plan was to maximize land use and to create a place where all of the buildings, both on and off water, were desirable and valuable. It includes commercial space for offices and retail, restaurants, and "live/work" townhouses. Amenities such as a promenade providing access to the water, a fountain and other landscaping features create value for the non-waterfront buildings. The plan was devised to provide for maximum flexibility and is adjusted periodically based on what the market dictates. The first three phases are complete and plans have been drawn for future phases.
